BARRIE, Ont. – Jason Robertson is on the verge of capturing the Ontario Hockey League scoring title after his latest performance.

Robertson had two goals and two assists as the Niagara IceDogs beat the Barrie Colts 7-4 on Saturday, placing him ahead of the pack in the race for the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy.

The Dallas Stars prospect now has 114 points in 61 games, giving him a four-point lead on North Bay Battalion forward Justin Brazeau, who sits second with 110 points. Forward Morgan Frost of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds is a distant third with 108 points.

All three have one more game to play on Sunday — the final day of the regular season. Robertson’s IceDogs will face Brazeau’s Battalion while Frost and the Greyhounds play the Saginaw Spirit.

Jack Studnicka had two goals and three helpers for Niagara (43-17-7), Ivan Lodnia added a pair of goals while Daniel Bukac and Philip Tomasino rounded out the offence.

Jason Willms struck twice and Tyler Tucker and Ryan Suzuki also scored for the Colts (26-37-4).

Stephen Dhillon kicked out 21 shots for the IceDogs as Kai Edmonds made 51 saves for Barrie.


OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Daylon Groulx scored twice as the Attack beat Kitchener.

Sergey Popov and Barret Kirwin also scored for Owen Sound (31-31-6) while Mack Guzda turned aside 23 shots for the win.

The Rangers (34-30-4) got goals from Joseph Garreffa and Greg Meireles. Lucas Pfeil kicked made 32 saves in a losing cause.


SAGINAW, Mich. — Kevin Hancock scored twice and Evan Bouchard had a goal and an assist as London toppled the Spirit to lock up first place in the Western Conference.

Paul Cotter and Nathan Dunkley also scored as Jordan Kooy kicked out 35 shots for the Knights (46-15-7).

Cole Perfetti and DJ Busdeker found the back of the net for Saginaw (45-16-6). Ivan Prosvetov made 38 saves in defeat.


PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen turned aside 33 shots as Sudbury slipped past the Petes.

Adam Ruzicka struck twice and Drake Pilon had the other for the Wolves (43-19-5).

Liam Kirk kept Peterborough (33-31-4) from being shut out. Hunter Jones made 29 saves in defeat.


FLINT, Mich. — Ethan Keppen and Hunter Holmes had a pair of goals apiece as the Firebirds doubled up Sarnia.

Emmet Pierce, Hakon Nilsen, Cody Morgan and Kyle Harris also scored for Flint (16-45-6). Luke Cavallin turned aside 29 shots for the win.

Jacob Perreault, Alexandre Hogue, Curtis Egert and Calvin Martin scored for the Sting (27-33-7). Cameron Lamour gave up seven goals on 30 shots for the loss.


ERIE, Pa. — MacKenzie Entwistle capped his hat trick with the winner at 3:35 of the third as Guelph downed the Otters.

Zachary Roberts and Ty Collins also scored for the Storm (40-18-10), who got 30 stops from Nico Daws.

Hayden Fowler and Gera Poddubnyi replied for Erie (26-38-4). Cole Ceci made 28 saves in a losing cause.
