This past week, country music superstar Chris Stapleton joined the phenomenal John Mayer on stage in Nashville, to perform a song they wrote together the previous night.
Here’s the story.
Stapleton was going to sit in with John Mayer during a show in Nashville this past Thursday night. Instead, John Mayer invited Stapleton to join him the night before, Wednesday, to try and write a song to perform together during Thursday’s show.

I’ve done a lot of cool stuff before, but nothing quite like writing a song with the great @chrisstapleton on a Wednesday and playing it live on an arena stage on a Thursday… It’s called “I Just Remembered That I Didn’t Care,” and it’s available now somewhere on YouTube. (And if that wasn’t enough, he sat in on “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.”) Thanks Chris for the idea to write a song to perform together, and for being such a creative powerhouse. The afterglow is bright. (📷 @daniel)
The song they came up with is “I Just Remembered That I Didn’t Care”. Take a listen below.
Pretty cool stuff!
