The annual events will take place at various venue spaces throughout the city and offer both free open to the public activities as well as ticketed events. See below for more info.
Charity Softball Challenge: CMAOntario takes you out to the ball game with the official kickoff to the CMAOntario Festival & Awards weekend. See an entourage of country music artists take to the diamond to showcase their skills as they swing for the fences. Root for your favourite artists and players while enjoying a fun evening at the park. Proceeds from the admission fee – a $5 donation at the door – will go towards supporting Unison Benevolent Fund, Kidsport London and the CMAOntario. Participating artists include: Songs and Stories: Creating music means different things to different people. And each musical genre presents its own unique challenges and opportunities but this group of songwriters all have one thing in common – they continue to write hit after hit. Although different musical styles demand different approaches to performing and recording, a well-written song is a well-written song, whether it’s a country rave-up, an infectious pop standard or a rock anthem. Come hear the songs and stories behind the hits. Hosted by Wendall Ferguson, the Songs and Stories event will feature performances by Jason Blaine, Ryan Langdon and Dan Davidson. R2I (Road to Independence) TuneUp Conference Saturday June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd will see the fifth edition of CMAOntario’s R2I TuneUp Conference move into the Delta London Armouries for a two-day program of learning, networking and mentoring with trailblazers in the country music industry. Programming will cover artist development and discovery, management and business practices, songwriting, digital marketing, promotion, funding and more. New Faces Showcase and Concert: Market Square transforms to country square with a free concert by Meghan Patrick and The Reklaws capping off an evening of performances by emerging Ontario artists Brad Battle, Johnson Crook, Kelsi Mayne, Joshua David, and The Redhill Valleys. Legacy Revival: The Legacy Revival will feature performances by Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, multiple award-winning artist and 2018 CMAOntario Impact Award recipient Michelle Wright, radio-hitmaker and Canadian country music star Aaron Pritchett, consummate road warriors and beloved country-bluegrass trio The Good Brothers and songwriting maven and country queen Patricia Conroy along with special guests Randy Owen and Bob Funk. CMAOntario Awards Show: Hosted by Jason McCoy, the awards show will feature performances by standout Canadian country acts and emerging artists.
