Join Country 104 for the 5th Annual Railway City Road Races, taking place Sunday, September 23.
The RCRR are pleased to announce that the half-marathon distance run will now be known as the RCRR Rob Broadbent Half Marathon!
Former St. Thomas Fire Chief Broadbent was a key organizer of the RCRR, an avid runner himself, and it was his leadership and passion that convinced the organizing committee to introduce a half marathon distance race to complement the 5 km and 10 km distances, as well as Choo Choo Challenge for children.
Registration is now open for the 2018 event which is in support of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) Orthopedics Services. To date, RCRR has raised more than $80,000 for STEGH and organizers are confident that this year’s tally will push the event past the $100,000 mark.
More than 520 participants took part in 2017, and each year the event continues to grow. Once again this year, those who register for the half marathon can take advantage of the Port Stanley Terminal Rail train to bring them from the CASO Station to Port Stanley for the start of the race.
